NGUYEN VAN CHUNG
Adventure tour guide
Chung became an expedition guide out of a deep love for and connection with nature. Mountains, caves, long trekking routes, and nights spent camping deep in the forest give Chung a sense of slowing down, listening, and truly reconnecting. With Chung, nature is not just something to admire, but a place where people learn humility, resilience, and respect for its raw, original values.
He has strong experience as a tour guide and has worked for three years as an outdoor instructor. Therefore, he understands that a safe and meaningful journey is built on a balance of knowledge, hands-on experience, and a strong commitment to protecting the natural world.
While enjoying hiking, rock climbing, camping, and photography, what truly motivates him is the opportunity to share the stories of Vietnam’s mountains and cave systems. He shares stories, knowledge, and experiences about places that remain wild and majestic in a warm, approachable, and often humorous way. Chung hopes that every traveler visiting Phong Nha leaves not only with beautiful photos, but also with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the natural environment there.
The quote Chung always keeps in mind, “A ship in a harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for,” motivates him to keep exploring, learning, and continuously developing himself.
He believes that stepping outside one’s comfort zone to explore nature is also a way to broaden one’s perspective on the world. On that journey, he hopes to accompany travelers not only as a guide, but as a companion, a storyteller, and someone who truly loves and cherishes the natural beauty of Viet Nam.
