HOANG VAN HOAI
Adventure tour guide
Hoang Van Hoai began his journey at Oxalis in 2013 as a porter. Born and raised in Phong Nha, Hoai grew up surrounded by natural beauty and magnificent cave systems, becoming familiar with long treks through the forest from a young age. He has a deep love for nature, especially for exploring. After 2 years as a porter, Hoai was promoted to safety assistant. With the company’s support, Hoai studied at Saigon College of Tourism. In October 2023, he officially became a guide at Oxalis.
Hoai has experience leading tours through Tu Lan, Hang Tien, and Hang En on trips ranging from 1 to 3 days. One of his most memorable experiences was being assigned to guide a tour in Tu Lan for the first time.
With a strong desire to learn, Hoai constantly seeks knowledge to provide guests not only with information about the caves but also with insights into the culture and lifestyle of the people of Phong Nha. During his time at Oxalis, he has participated in intensive training with international experts in safety, geology, rescue, and guiding skills. Hoai has gained a solid understanding of ecosystems, cave formations, and emergency response procedures. He has also supported large projects like Alan Walker’s MV Alone Pt. II and projects by the BBC and National Geographic.
Tu Lan is Hoai’s favorite destination, offering camping, swimming in caves, and immersion in the stunning natural landscape. With his friendly, responsible, and passionate approach, Hoai is always ready to be a trustworthy companion on any adventure.
