HO THAI DUONG

Adventure tour guide

Ho Thai Duong has been with Oxalis since the company’s early days. Born and raised in Phong Nha, Duong has witnessed remarkable changes in his hometown. From a poor rural village, Phong Nha transformed into a popular tourist destination following the announcement of Son Doong, the world’s largest cave. He takes pride in being a local and is always eager to share the majestic, untouched beauty of Phong Nha with visitors.

Before becoming a guide, Duong was one of the first employees at Oxalis to set foot in Son Doong as a safety assistant. Now, he has experience leading 1 to 3-day tours in the Tu Lan cave system and Hang En Cave. Duong especially enjoys swimming in the caves, which is for him an exhilarating experience. An unforgettable memory for him was his first time swimming through Hung Ton Cave, a moment in which he felt truly immersed in nature.

Duong is an enthusiastic and cheerful guide, who aims to provide memorable and safe experiences for guests. He always works his hardest to create a lively atmosphere while maintaining discipline for a well-rounded journey. He has participated in extensive training in rescue, equipment handling, and first aid with experts and the Red Cross, strengthening his skills in managing groups and handling situations to ensure the success of each tour.

Duong’s favorite spots on tours are the riverside campsites. Here, he can enjoy a drink amidst the scenic natural surroundings, relax, and watch the sunrise in the fresh air. For him, Oxalis tours are not just about exploring magnificent nature—they’re also about pushing one’s limits and creating unforgettable experiences.
