Oxalis Foundation awards 293 "Support to Education" scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year
On August 29, 2024, Oxalis Foundation awarded 293 “Support to School” scholarships to students in Quang Binh province. These students come from disadvantaged backgrounds but show great effort and have good academic results for the 2023-2024 school year (with grades of Good or higher). The program aims to help students buy books and learning materials and confidently start the new school year.
293 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND, were given to students from 21 primary, secondary, and high schools in Bo Trach, Minh Hoa, Tuyen Hoa districts, and Ba Don town.
In addition, Oxalis Foundation donated 20 million VND to support the activities of the Quang Binh Provincial Study Promotion Association. This aims to create better educational and talent promotion conditions in the area. The total cost of the 2024 "Support to School" scholarship project by Oxalis Foundation is 313 million VND.
Mr. Hoang The Tuan, an Oxalis representative, presented a scholarship to the Quang Binh Study Promotion Association.
Scholarships are allocated based on each locality's actual needs. Priority is given to students in challenging circumstances.
The "Support to School" scholarship program, initiated and maintained by Oxalis Foundation for many years, has become a meaningful activity. It contributes to the development of education in the local community.
Through material support, Oxalis Foundation aims to encourage students' learning spirit. The foundation helps them overcome difficulties and reach for a brighter future. In 2024, the number of scholarships distributed to each locality is as follows:
- Phong Nha Town: 60 scholarships
- Phuc Trach Commune: 60 scholarships
- Xuan Trach Commune: 40 scholarships
- Cao Quang Commune: 50 scholarships
- Tan Trach Commune (Ban Doong School): 23 scholarships
- Tan Hoa Commune: 60 scholarships
The "Support to School" scholarship is given to children with good academic results in difficult situations.
In addition to the scholarship program, Oxalis will offer free swimming classes in the summer of 2024. These classes are for 813 children aged 8-15 living by the Son and Rao Nan rivers. The classes will teach them how to swim and improve their swimming skills. They will also help prevent drowning accidents among children in the area.
Every summer, Oxalis organizes swimming classes for children in the Son River and Rao Nan River areas.
The Oxalis Foundation's funds come from three sources: 100% of the profit from selling products at Oxalis Gear Shop, such as trekking clothes, accessories, and sandals; a portion of the after-tax profit from Oxalis Adventure and its affiliated companies; and donations from sponsors and customers participating in Oxalis tours.
Oxalis Foundation sincerely thanks the Quang Binh Study Promotion Association and local districts for their cooperation and support in making the program successful. We also extend our gratitude to the sponsors and customers of Oxalis Gear Shop for their contributions, which help fund the Foundation and support these meaningful programs.
